The filthiest punk-metal maelstrom straight from the sewage soaked streets of Wellington.
Bowel Rupture was a five-piece band from Wellington, New Zealand, that fused death metal, crust, and hardcore punk into a raw, abrasive sound that could be described as grinding blown-out crust haemorrhaging ebola through speakers.
Formed in 2018, the lineup featured Selina on vocals, Quintin and Daz on guitars, Dan on bass, and Jeff on drums, Bowel Rupture’s music delivered a relentless intensity over which Selina’s vocals and in-your-face stage presence pummeled audiences into submission..
Bowel Rupture released a self-titled EP in 2018 featuring four tracks of raw ferocity. In 2019 the track “Blackline” appeared on the Hairy Palm vol. 3 compilation, followed later that year by “Virus” on the Rungus Among Us compilation. In February 2020 they issued a split 7” with fellow Wellington band Pvnisher.
Despite the disruptions of COVID-19 lockdowns, the band played several memorable shows in 2020, including Punx for BLM, In From The Dark, before a final standout performance at Neil Roberts Day on December 5.
