Floorpie was a four-piece skate punk formed in 1999 by Onslow College students Mark Leong (vocals), Jeremy Graham (guitar), Sebastian Meek (bass), and Richie Voss (drums). Named after a Homer Simpson quote from The Simpsons, the band drew inspiration from 1990s American punk bands. They self-released a demo, Five Songs That Suck, in 1999 and played all ages shows at Thistle Hall alongside bands like Channel 13, Brubeck, Blake, Kitsch, and Sommerset. Part of a late 90’s resurgence of punk bands that shifted away from the anarcho-punk and crust influences of the earlier in the decade.
In early 2000, Jason Gascoigne replaced Voss on drums, and Mark Leong left to form Pedal Faster, leading to Matt Sherbourne of Channel 13 taking over vocals. The new lineup debuted at a Valve show on March 25, 2000, but the band fizzled out by winter that year. Jeremy Graham and Jason Gascoigne later formed Sheriff Lobo.
