Hair Brains was started in Berlin while Liz (guitar/ vox) and Jessy (drums) were on a European walkabout. Influenced by the early 80’s Danish hardcore band Electric Deads Hair Brains released a rare-as-hens-teeth demo tape, recorded in Lightenberg, Berlin, in October 2014.

Back in Aotearoa they were joined by Kitt and Selina and started playing shows for a time before breaking up to do other things. Liz and Kitt were already playing in Ayn Randy, and Jessy was soon drumming in Piggery. Selina went on to do vocals in blackened crust metal band Bowel Rupture and later rejoined Kitt as vocalist in short-lived band Intoxo.
