Located off Cuba Street in the central Wellington neighbourhood of Te Aro the Garrett Street flat was a hub for local bands and activism from the mid-1990’s with acts such as Rogernomix, Strangers, Teen Hygiene and others playing shows in the 2rd floor space of the converted former Morrison’s building originally built to house a printing press. The building was put on the market in 2019 with news articles at the time lamenting the loss of the space, however seven years later the space is operating as a creative hub for Wellington’s experimental and independent arts scene.
