First Person Shooter was a hardcore/ screamo band from Wellington known for their intense live performances. FPS formed in 2005 by Fuzz, Adam Orchiston and Tom Ralston after their previous band Still Nothing bit the dust. Recruiting Bernard Gruschow as vocalist, First Person Shooter played their first show on August 5 2005 at Valve along with local acts Damaged (which Fuzz also played in), Guest Stabs Host and Time only Passes.
From September to October that year FPS played a series of gigs on a nearly weekly basis, including at the short-lived Cake Shop in Cuba Mall, culminating with an appearance at Punkfest 2005 in late October and a follow up show with Australian band Pure Evil Trio.
After this intense burst of activity the band went into hiatus, remerging in October 2006 to play a couple of shows including Punkfest before finally disbanding. After the band’s dissolution, Fuzz continued playing bass for Damaged and later took up guitar in metalcore band Entrails (2009-2011).
