G.D.V were a crust-punk band from Te Whanganui-a-Tara/ Wellington, formed in late 2017 by a crew of high school punks: Iakavo (vocals), Harry (guitar), Finn (guitar), Shay (bass), and Ricardo (drums). They first crashed onto the scene with a blistering set at “Ski Lodge”, playing classic Doom inspired crust to a packed lounge in the Kilbirnie punk flat.
G.D.V established themselves in 2018 playing Waitangi Wastefest, Neil Roberts Day and releasing the EP Greek Domestic Violence at the Queen’s Birthday weekend Destroy Wellington event. Momentum stalled in 2019 after Ricardo left the band and a new drummer was required with Jeff Lepper eventually hopping on the stool. However, from 2020 covid lockdowns did their thing and G.D.V never really recovered making a couple of appearances in 2021 before disbanding, out of the ruins though emerged the mighty Dole Bludger.
