Formed in late 2022 Dole Bludger is a four-piece crust-punk, sludge band drawing inspiration from the likes of Dystopia, Nausea and Disclose. The band played their first gig on February 12, 2023, opening for Japanese hardcore act Kruelty alongside local power violence trio Stress Ghetto. The current lineup features Rachel Collins on vocals, Harry on bass, Finn Kelly on guitar and Ateo Buhne on drums. Finn and Harry had previously played in local crust punk band G.D.V (2018-2021) while Rachel Collins is also currently in Wellington black-metal band Windswept.

Dole Bludger released a “Demonstration Tape” in June, 2023. A four song demo recorded with an original bass player and drummer that left the band soon after. They went on to support UK grindcore legends Napalm Death in Wellington that September and played at Neil Roberts Day on November 18. In March 2024 Dole Bludger made a short trip to Melbourne with Wellington grindcore band Forced Starvation. Later that year, Jeff Leper left and was replaced by Ateo Buhne, son of Lorenzo Buhne of US punk legends Fear and The Dickies.

Armed with a new drummer, Dole Bludger returned to Oz in 2025 for the “Pissfuck Degeneracy Tour”. Later that year they accompanied Melbourne grindcore band Choof on a North Island tour with Hawkes Bay’s Postnatal Abortion. In 2026 D.B. has been working on a debut album.
