Schitzofrantics were an anarcho-punk band from Wellington, New Zealand, active from 1991 to 1993. Known for their dual-vocal attack, the band featured Stasia Polatzik and Simon on vocals, Stefan Brough on guitar, Johnny Brough on drums, and Mike Polatzik on bass. Immersed in the politically charged punk scene of the early 1990s, they aligned with animal liberation groups like the NZAVS, channeling their activism into raw, confrontational music.
The band performed at Wellington venues such as Thistle Hall, James Cabaret, and Empire Warehouse, and ventured to Palmerston North for gigs at Super Liquor Man. In December 1992, they toured both the North and South Islands alongside local punk legends SMUT. Their final show was in March 1993 at Thistle Hall, sharing the stage with Septic Noise Grinder and Devoid. Shortly after, Schitzofrantics disbanded, with Stefan, Johnny, and Mike forming a new band, Shrapnel. Johnny Brough would later go on to drum for Brubeck in 1997.
