Formed as a tongue-in-cheek side project, the band featured guitarist\/ vocalist Sam Thurston and drummer Bosun, both already fixtures in the Wellington underground. The recording captured Police Lineup\u2019s ethos perfectly: ultra-short, no-frills blasts of power-violence paired with song titles that gleefully skewered the hardcore scene. Tracks such as \u201c<em>I Invented Grindcore and All I Got Was This Shitty Munter Bogan Crowd (Ode to Napalm)<\/em>\u201d and \u201c<em>There\u2019s Not Enough Skulls in Your Album Art<\/em>\u201d showcased their sense of humour as much as their ferocity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:17px\">One of their early shows was at <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/upthepunks.co.nz\/2025\/04\/the-adelaide\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"17201\">The Adelaide<\/a><\/strong> pub in Mount Cook\/ Newtown, sharing a bill with <strong>Rogernomix, <a href=\"https:\/\/upthepunks.co.nz\/2025\/03\/cult-of-the-cobra\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"179\">Cult of the Cobra<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/upthepunks.co.nz\/2025\/03\/adam-smith-assassination\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"48\">Adam Smith Assassination<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/upthepunks.co.nz\/2022\/06\/neon-bastard\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"1261\">Neon Bastard<\/a><\/strong>, an early snapshot of Wellington\u2019s feral crusty punk scene at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:17px\">In 2010, Police Lineup released a split 7\u201d with Hamilton grindcore legends <strong>Aborted Christians<\/strong>. But by 2011 the project had run its course. Their final appearance came on 18 March 2011 at Bodega\u2019s Burgundy Room, playing alongside <strong>Meth Drinker, <a href=\"https:\/\/upthepunks.co.nz\/2025\/10\/numbskull\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"376\">Numbskull<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/upthepunks.co.nz\/2025\/06\/shock-futuro\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"446\">Shock Futuro<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/upthepunks.co.nz\/2025\/06\/fantails\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"237\">Fantails<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:17px\">After Police Lineup ended, Bosun went on to drum for the powerviolence outfit <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/upthepunks.co.nz\/2022\/06\/stress-ghetto\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"495\">Stress Ghetto<\/a><\/strong> (formed in 2012).
