Commiserate the ascension of yet another swole-handed descendant of German aristocracy to the throne of failed empire with some of the finest local punk rock on offer.

POP O.D. – Poneke garage punks POP O.D. will be bringing some high energy rock ‘n’ roll to your ears, and probably some hot pants to your eyes. Find their demo on Spotify or Bandcamp.

Gravel Pit – Melodic hardcore legends Gravel Pit can take the crown with their head chopping riffs and no-holds-barred audio attack. Find their releases on Spotify and Bandcamp.

Fielding’s Best Dancers – Last time I was in Fielding I had to spend all night on a rural driveway where a murder happened. That vibe is not at all representative of the always excellent FDB, who you might want to challenge to a b-boy battle for sickest moves. Find FDB on Bandcamp.

Departure Party – The always prolific Departure Party will have you all up in your feelings with some more mellow musical offerings. Also available on Spotify and Bandcamp.

Dolebludger – New kids on the block Dolebludger are sure to bludgeon you with their crusty sludgy dbeat situation, and if I remember the song correctly, the New Kids on the Block had a lot of hits. Not sure Dolebludger wear Abercrombie though.

$10 tickets on UTR – $15 on the door
May 6th at Boneface Tavern, 13 Pirie Street, Mount Vic, Poneke. R18. 7pm doors.

Dan Fraser
