The Deadline

The Deadline

The Deadline was a metalcore band from Wellington active from 2002 to 2005. The lineup featured Tali Williams on vocals, Rhydian Thomas and James Murray on guitars, with Simon Rodgers on bass, and Dan Fraser on drums. Jason Gascoigne later replaced Fraser in late 2003 or early 2004.

The Deadline opened for a number of international acts in its 3 years including The Hope Conspiracy, Hatebreed, Throwdown and Terror. They released their self-titled album in 2005, at what was their final show, on July 8 at Valve. After the band split, members pursued other projects: Tali joined post-hardcore band Dial and later Auckland’s Another Fucking Problem; Rhydian, James Murray, and Jason played in hardcore bands Guest Stabs Host, Damaged, and Strangers; and in 2024, Simon and James reunited in Slacker.
