The Methadonnas were a high-energy two-piece garage punk rock band hailing from Palmerston North, New Zealand. The lineup featured Betty on guitar/vocals and Mon on drums/vocals, delivering raw, fast-paced songs inspired by classic punk rock.

Formed in 2011, the band made their live debut in November that year at The Royal in Palmerston North. They shared the stage with Black Chrome, another local act playing Turbojugend-style rock, for which Mon also drummed. From 2012 to 2014, The Methadonnas kept busy playing live shows across New Zealand. In August 2013, they released their debut (and only) EP, “Fuck Yeah!”, on Wellington’s Zero Style label.

A highlight of their career came in October 2014, when they joined the “infamous” Bus Hell tour of the South Island alongside Wellington bands Johnny and the Felchers, The Dilfs, and Phone Sex Robots and Napier band Over-Population. The tour hit venues in Nelson, Motueka, Dunedin, Oamaru, and culminated at Christchurch Punkfest. The Methadonnas played their final show on February 5, 2015, returning to The Royal in Palmerston North, where it all began, before Betty headed overseas, bringing the band to a close.

After the split, Mon went on to form The Hellebores (2016–2017) with Black Chrome bandmate Ben Topping.
